Navigate to the directory in which the folder appears. Drag the folder into the sidebar. While still dragging make sure you’re seeing a blue insert line, rather than another item’s highlight. Press Control-F3 (Control-Fn-F3 on a portable Mac) to move to the Dock. Then use the Left Arrow and Right Arrow keys to move from icon to icon. Press Return to open an item. 1. Open and a Finder window and Click Go and choose Home. This will open your Home folder. Or alternatively, you may use the keyboard shortcuts in the Finder: Command-Shift-H.

Note: If the Downloads folder on the Dock appears as a stack instead of a folder, you can change this. Simple control-click (right-click) the Downloads icon on the Dock, and then select “Display as Folder” or “Display as Stack”.

The tips above will work if you have not permanently deleted your folder. You can easily check this if it is deleted or not. Open Spotlight and search Downloads. Can Spotlight find the folder? You probably did not delete the folder permanently. The only way to do that is via Terminal. If this is the case, you can create a folder and name it Downloads and then restart your Mac.
